Player safety comes first. No question. We want to play lacrosse, but we will only do so safely. The future course of the COVID-19 pandemic is unpredictable, so we are doing what we can to prevent the spread right now. In partnership with the university, we've put together a return to play plan, approved by University of Idaho Health and Recreational leadership, to play while minimizing risk. For Fall Ball, the following changes will be implemented:
We will not be traveling to any Fall tournaments.
We will have positional practices – getting sticks back in our players' hands, while limiting size of gatherings.
A majority of practice will be designed to maintain appropriate distance between players. Contact drills will be very limited. For any drills that require contact, masks will be worn by players.
Off the field, we are strongly encouraging our team to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
We're waiting to hear about the steps the MCLA and PNCLL will be taking to combat the spread of COVID-19, especially for the Spring season, and will provide updates as we get them. If you have any further questions, please reach out to Coach Raichl for more information.
Stay safe, Vandals!
